Source: Google Books: ManthanabhairavatantramCauravat (चौरवत्) refers to “one who is like a thief”, according to the Manthānabhairavatantra, a vast sprawling work that belongs to a corpus of Tantric texts concerned with the worship of the goddess Kubjikā.—Accordingly, [while describing the initiation by a teacher]: “[...] One who is not part of the sequence of teachers is like a thief (cauravat) in (this) school. One should never show the scripture (to such a one) or place it in (his) hand. One should never let go of the thread of the scripture (that binds it together). [...]”.
