Source: archive.org: Puranic EncyclopediaDaivālīka (दैवालीक).—A country. Mention is made in Mahābhārata, Sabhā Parva, Chapter 52, Stanza 18, that the King and the people of Daivālīka were present on the occasion of the sacrifice of Rājasūya (imperial consecration) of Yudhiṣṭhira.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
