Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarDigādi (दिगादि).—A class of words headed by the word दिक् (dik) to which the tad.affix य (ya) (यत् (yat)) is added in the sense of 'produced therein' (तत्र भवः (tatra bhavaḥ)), e.g. दिशि भवं दिश्यम् (diśi bhavaṃ diśyam), similarly वर्ग्यम्, गण्यः (vargyam, gaṇyaḥ) etc.; cf. Kas. on P.IV.3.54.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
