Himavatpuravāsin) refers to the “residents of the town Himavat”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.45 (“Śiva’s comely form and the Jubilation of the Citizens”).—Accordingly, after Menā spoke to Śiva: “Delighted on seeing Śiva and overwhelmed by affection they cherished the comely form in their hearts and spoke as follows:—[The ladies said:—] ‘The eyes of the residents of this town (himavatpuravāsin) have become fruitful. The life of the persons who have seen this comely form has become meaningful. The life is fruitful and the rites are fruitful only of the person who has seen Śiva, the destroyer of all sins. [...]’”.
