Source: Advances in Zoology and Botany: Indigenous Knowledge of Some Medicinal Plants of Himalaya RegionHolla refers to the medicinal plant “Rumax nepalense Spreng.” from the Polygonaceae family, and is used for ethnomedicine treatment of Fever in Ahmednagar district, India. The parts used are: “Leaves, Stem, Roots”. Instructions for using the plant named Holla: Leaves are cooked as vegetable and given to pregnant to treat constipation. Stem and leaves extract is applied on wounds to stop bleeding.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
