Source: ORA: Amanaska (king of all yogas): A Critical Edition and Annotated Translation by Jason BirchInertia is denoted by the Sanskrit term Laya, according to the Maitrāyaṇīyopaniṣat 6.34.7.—Accordingly, while describing the no-mind state: “Having made the mind free from inertia (laya) and distraction, it [becomes] very still. When it goes to the state of no mind, then that is the supreme state”.
Yoga is originally considered a branch of Hindu philosophy (astika), but both ancient and modern Yoga combine the physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga teaches various physical techniques also known as āsanas (postures), used for various purposes (eg., meditation, contemplation, relaxation).
