It is stated in Ṛgveda, Maṇḍala 1, Anuvāka 17, Sūkta 116, that when this King was surrounded by enemies once, the Aśvinīdevas got him into their chariot and through easily passable ways took him to the top of a mountain.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
