Source: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama TextsJīrṇasaṃskāra (जीर्णसंस्कार) refers to “renovation procedures for old temple parts”, as discussed in the seventeenth chapter of the Nāradīyasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra document comprising over 3000 verses in 30 chapters presenting in a narrative framework the teachings of Nārada to Gautama, dealing primarily with modes of worship and festivals.—Description of the chapter [jīrṇasaṃskāra-vidhi]: Gautama asks Nārada what to do when repairs have to be made (jīrṇasaṃskāra) to the main icon, the vimāna-structure, the vimāna-building, the maṇḍapa-pavilions, the gopura-towers, and the parivāra-shrines. Nārada turns first to matters of repairing an icon, noting that differences will occur whether the main icon is acknowledged to be man-made or is considered to be of semi-divine or even of divine origin [mānuṣa-ārṣa-svayamvyakta]. [...] Briefer directions are given for instances when the vimāna-structure itself, or when maṇḍapa-pavilions, or prākāra-walls, etc., need repair (61b-92a).
