Source: Google Books: ManthanabhairavatantramMatavana (मतवन) refers to the “(dense) forest of doctrine”, according to the Manthānabhairavatantra, a vast sprawling work that belongs to a corpus of Tantric texts concerned with the worship of the goddess Kubjikā.—Accordingly: “Mitranātha, in order to (acquire) the authority which comes from initiation (went to) the dense forest of doctrine (matavana) within which the venerable (Goddess) Kubjikā wonders. Once the Command was given to him (he became) Kuṇḍalīśa, the lord designated for three Ages. [...]”.
