Source: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama TextsNavanābhārcana (नवनाभार्चन) (lit. “worship of the nine-lotus cakra”) is the name of chapter 19 of the Pauṣkarasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text of almost 5900 verses divided into forty-three chapters presented as a frame-work dialogue between Pauṣkara and Bhagavān dealing with the esoteric meaning of maṇḍala-designs, worship routines and temple-building.—Description of the chapter [navanābhārcana]: Efficacy of the worship done through the “Nine-lotus maṇḍala” is given (1-20). He who worships the navābja will get higher knowledge, says Bhagavān. Thereupon Pauṣkara asks to know the rudiments of higher knowledge [vidyā] (21-25). Bhagavān gives an outline of the philosophical aspects of vidyā (26-47); the elementary principle of the highest concept is sound [śabda]. Groups of sounds, or chants, are examined and are demonstrated to be true reflections of ultimate reality; repetition of these brings the believer to a comprehension of their corresponding levels of reality (48-74). Pauṣkara asks if the mantras can do this much, what will happen if one turns to navābjamaṇḍalas and through them worships the higher realities (vyūhas, etc.) represented in their designs? Bhagavān replies that these meditations will lead the devotee to a higher comprehension of reality consonant with those pow rs. He gives the details of such worship with mantras, nyāsa, puṣpa etc. (75-140).
