Nṛsiṃhavaktra (नृसिंहवक्त्र) is the name of a Mantra discussed in the twenty-ninth chapter of the Jayākhyasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra Āgama text composed of 4500 verses in 33 chapters dealing with topics such as mantra (formulas), japa (repetitions), dhyāna (meditations), mudrā (gesticulations), nyāsa (concentrations) etc.—Description of the chapter [vaktramantra-sādhana]:—This chapter continues in the same spirit and tone as the preceding ones. Here, Bhagavān turns His attention to the nṛsiṃhavaktra-mantra and his retinues’ mantras (2-58), to the kapila-vaktramantra and his retinues’ mantras (59-110), and finally to the varāha-vaktramantra and those of his retinue (111-188a).
