Source: Wisdom Library: Āyurveda and botanyRaktāgni (रक्ताग्नि, “blood-fire”):—One of the seven tissue fires (Dhatvagni).—A Sanskrit technical term from Āyurveda (Indian medicine) and used in literature such the Carakasaṃhitā and the Suśrutasaṃhitā. This ‘fire’, or, agnī, is related to rakta (‘blood’) and is responsible for converting the atomic portion of plasma (rasadhatu) into blood tissue called Raktadhātu.

Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics.
