Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Raktapittaghna (रक्तपित्तघ्न) refers to that which is “destructive of hemorrhage”, as mentioned in a verse sometimes added after verse 5.39 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “sweet, destructive of hemorrhage [viz., raktapittaghna], heavy in its digestion, dispersive of phlegm, sedative of wind and choler, (and) strongly cooling (is) buffalo’s ghee [viz., māhiṣaghṛta]”.
