1) Rathapratiṣṭhā (रथप्रतिष्ठा) refers to the “consecration of the Rathas”, as discussed in chapter 21 of the Puruṣottamasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text consisting of more than 1800 verses devoted to temple-building and the practical concerns of the Pāñcarātra priestly community.—Description of the chapter [vimāna-gopura-maṇḍapa-ādi-pratiṣṭhā]: Bhagavān says he will now tell how to consecrate the structural buildings in a temple. The details for consecrating the vimāna are first outlined (1-15); the same is then outlined for maṇḍapas (15-23) , and then also collectively for rathas [e.g., maṇḍapapratiṣṭhā], vāhanas, dvāras, gopuras etc. (24-34). The remainder of the chapter deals with sudarśana-consecration (35-58).

2) Rathapratiṣṭhā (रथप्रतिष्ठा) refers to the “consecration rites for chariots”, as discussed in chapter 8 of the Bhāradvājasaṃhitā or “Bhāradvāja-kaṇva-saṃhitā”: a Pāñcarātra text comprising some 230 ślokas mainly concerned with basic details concerning temple construction and icon consecration.—Description of chapter [cakragopuravimāna-pratiṣṭhānukramaṇikā]: [...] Kaṇva asks now to be told about the sanctification of the temple-structure and its parts. Bharadvāja promises to give him all details in accordance with Śāstraic injunctions. [...] The sanctification of a vimāna-structure and of ratha-chariots are done in a similar fashion. [...]
