Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarSanvadbhāva (सन्वद्भाव).—Behaviour like that of the affix सन् (san) in point of its specific features, viz. causing reduplication in the case of the previous root by the rule सन्यङोः (sanyaṅoḥ) VI.1.9, as also the substitution of इ (i) for अ (a) in the reduplicated syllable (अभ्यास (abhyāsa)), by P. VII. 4.79. This सन्वद्भाव (sanvadbhāva) is prescribed in the case of a root ending in इ (i) (णिच् (ṇic)) before the aorist sign (विकरण (vikaraṇa)) चङ् (caṅ). cf. सन्वल्लघुनि चङ्परेनग्लोपे (sanvallaghuni caṅparenaglope) VII. 4.93.
