Source: Shodhganga: Temples and cult of Sri Rama in TamilnaduSholingar (Katikai) refers to one of the 108 divyadesas according to Priyavaccan Pillai’s compendium of the Ramayana based on the Nalayirativviyappirapantam.—Katikai is close to Valasapettai on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway. No Mulavigraha at the bottom of the hill and the Utsavamurti is Bhaktavatsala Perumal. On the hill top, the temple is for Yoga-Narasimha. The temple is associated with sage Visvamitra who stayed here for a katikai (fraction of time) to attain moksa.
