Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationŚuddhadravya (शुद्धद्रव्य) refers to “clean wealth”, as defined in the Śivapurāṇa 1.15. Accordingly, “that which is acquired by gleaning more than one ear of corn at a time or gleaning corns one by one, by fees received from disciple is called Śuddhadravya (clean wealth). This wealth yields complete benefit. Wealth acquired by acceptance of monetary gifts is called middlesome wealth. Wealth acquired by agricultural or trading activities is called lowliest wealth”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
