Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarŚvobhūtivṛtti (श्वोभूतिवृत्ति).—A grammatical work of the type of a gloss on the Sutras of Panini written by an ancient grammarian श्वोभूति (śvobhūti) mentioned in the Mahabhasya; cf. स्तोष्याम्यहं पादिकमौदवाहिं ततः श्वेभूते शातनीं पातनीं च (stoṣyāmyahaṃ pādikamaudavāhiṃ tataḥ śvebhūte śātanīṃ pātanīṃ ca) M. Bh. on P. I.1.57. Possibly the grammarian श्वोभूति (śvobhūti) is referred to in the word श्वोभूत (śvobhūta) in the verse.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas.
