Shilpashastra (iconography)
Source: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama Texts (shilpa)Sītāmūrti (सीतामूर्ति) refers to the “icon of Sītā” (part of Rāma’s retinue), as discussed in chapter 17 (Kriyāpāda) of the Padmasaṃhitā: the most widely followed of Saṃhitā covering the entire range of concerns of Pāñcarātra doctrine and practice (i.e., the four-fold formulation of subject matter—jñāna, yoga, kriyā and caryā) consisting of roughly 9000 verses.—Description of the chapter [matsyādi-mūrtilakṣaṇa]: Bhagavān undertakes to discuss the icons of the ten avatāras. He begins by discussing the dimensions, the postures, weapons, etc., [e.g., for Śrīrāma (60b-74a)]. Because of this latter, the iconography of Lakṣmaṇa, Sītā [e.g., sītāmūrti], Hanumān and others of Rāma’s retinue is also given, including their colors (74b-112a). The chapter ends with a description of Balarāma (112b-117).

Shilpashastra (शिल्पशास्त्र, śilpaśāstra) represents the ancient Indian science (shastra) of creative arts (shilpa) such as sculpture, iconography and painting. Closely related to Vastushastra (architecture), they often share the same literature.
