Sudarśanamudrā (सुदर्शनमुद्रा) is the name of a Mudrā (esoteric gesture), as discussed in chapter 31 of the Lakṣmītantra: a Pāñcarātra text comprising some 3600 Sanskrit verses exclusively devoted to Goddess Lakṣmī or Śrī (the consort of Viṣṇu) besides dealing with cosmology and practical regarding Vaishnava priests and temple-building programs.—Description of the chapter [sudarśana-prakāśa]: The sudarśanamantra is further praised, and some of its prayogic effects are listed (1-32). The sudarśanagāyatrīmantra is then described (33-36), followed by the sudarśanamudrā (37-39). The śakti-power of the mantra may be obtained by repetition of the mantra with the mudrā-gestures accompanying it; the effect will be to kill one’s enemies or to abolish impediments (40-44). [...]
