It is smooth and has a deep-red color. It is considered the superior of the two varieties.

Svarṇagairika is madhura, tikta and kaṣāya in Rasa, hima in Vīrya and netrya in Karma. It destroys hikkā, vami, viṣa-prabhāva, raktapitta and raktasrāva. It is considered superior in properties to the other variety named Pāsāṇagairika.
