Pancaratra (worship of Nārāyaṇa)
Source: archive.org: Catalogue of Pancaratra Agama Texts1) Tantrāntarasiddhānta (तन्त्रान्तरसिद्धान्त) refers to one of the four sections of the Pāñcarātra, according to the twenty-first chapter of the Īśvarasaṃhitā (printed edition), a Pāñcarātra work in 8200 verses and 24 chapters dealing with topics such as routines of temple worship, major and minor festivals, temple-building and initiation.—Description of the chapter [dīkṣā-vidhi]: [...] The last thirty ślokas of the chapter deal with the very interesting subject of intra-sectarian purity: It is said that the Pāñcarātrāgama is divided into four parts—āgama, mantra, tantra and tantrāntara. [...] Tantra is concerned with the worship of one mūrti-aspect only (577-578); tantrāntara is concerned with various mūrti-aspects with all their retinues, their weapons and ornamentations, etc. (579-583). [...]
2) Tantrāntarasiddhānta (तन्त्रान्तरसिद्धान्त) refers to one of the Siddhāntas (fourfold tradition), as discussed in chapter 21 (Caryāpāda) of the Padmasaṃhitā: the most widely followed of Saṃhitā covering the entire range of concerns of Pāñcarātra doctrine and practice (i.e., the four-fold formulation of subject matter—jñāna, yoga, kriyā and caryā) consisting of roughly 9000 verses.—[Cf. the chapter siddhāntabhedena pañcarātrādhikārivyavasthā]: Brahmā says that having heard about the various rules, he would now like to know who are the qualified aspirants to follow in the different schools of Pāñcarātra. [...] The tantrāntarasiddhānta school worships the Lord in the cakrābja-maṇḍala design, the kumbha-pot, the pratimā-image and (or?) in the fire. The icons of the Lord of these tantrāntarasiddhāntins will represent Him as three-faced, four-faced or many-faced; such images will be revealed in a standing posture atop a yogapīṭha-pedestal, and so will be surrounded by the attendant parivāra-deities. The worship of tantrāntarasiddhāntins will be done by employing the piṇḍamantra, kalāmantra, etc., but without knowledge of the esoteric meanings. All four castes may belong to this school and they should observe the saṃskāra-sacraments according to their own rules (69b-73a).
