Source: archive.org: A History of Indian Philosophy (saivism)Tirukkalirrupadiyar refers to one of the fourteen Śaiva-siddhānta works mentioned by Schomerus in his books: Der Śaiva Siddhānta.—The Śaivāgamas or Siddhāntas are supposed to have been originally written by Maheśvara, probably in Sanskrit. Schomerus mentions the names of twenty-eight Śaivāgamas and further mentions the names of fourteen canonical texts [e.g., Tirukkalirrupadiyar] forming the materials of the Śaiva-siddhānta Śāstra. They are written in Tamil.
Shaiva (शैव, śaiva) or Shaivism (śaivism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshiping Shiva as the supreme being. Closely related to Shaktism, Shaiva literature includes a range of scriptures, including Tantras, while the root of this tradition may be traced back to the ancient Vedas.
