Toyavṛṣṭi (तोयवृष्टि) refers to a “rain of water”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.6.—Accordingly, after the Gods eulogised Goddess Śivā who resided in the womb of Menā:—“[...] Coming out of the belly of Menā at the proper time in her real form, she resembled Lakṣmī coming out of the ocean. When she was born, Śiva was glad. A slow [i.e., gambhīra], fragrant and auspicious wind blew favourably. Along with the rain [i.e., toyavṛṣṭi] there was a shower of flowers. Fires calmly glowed and the clouds rumbled. [...]”.
