Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationTrailokyadāhaka (त्रैलोक्यदाहक) means to “burn all the three worlds”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.37. Accordingly:—“[...] O sage, hit suddenly by that blow, Viṣṇu Puruṣottama, fell unconscious on the ground. Then arose a wonderful brilliance as terrible as the fire at the time of dissolution. It seemed to burn all the three worlds [viz., trailokyadāhaka]. It was severe and terrifying even to great heroes”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
