Ucchīrṣakāsana (उच्छीर्षकासन) is a type of posture (āsana), according to verse 48 of the Śrītattvanidhi.—Accordingly, “Place each foot in the armpit. This is ucchīrṣakāsana, the cushion”.

The 19th-century Śrītattvanidhi is a sanskrit treatise describing 80 primary āsanas, or ‘posture’ (e.g., ucchīrṣaka-āsana) and several additional ones.

This name is not found in Iyengar. The āsana form could be compared to yogadaṇḍāsana found there.
