Vāstupuruṣāvāhanajaloddhāraṇa (वास्तुपुरुषावाहनजलोद्धारण) (lit. “taking the icon out of the water immersion and invoking the presence of vāstupuruṣa”) is the name of chapter 17 of the Puruṣottamasaṃhitā: a Pāñcarātra text consisting of more than 1800 verses devoted to temple-building and the practical concerns of the Pāñcarātra priestly community.—Description of the chapter [vāstupuruṣāvāhanajaloddhāraṇa]: The next morning [continuing from chapter XV], vāstupūjā is done (1-12a.) That afternoon the Ācārya removes the icon from the water and takes it to the yāgamaṇḍapa (12b-17).
