Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.

(app. vi plus baddha; compare next two), dis-connected, and so showing gaps (in the framework of a roof, and in the Bodhisattva's ribs): sayyathāpi nāma ubhayato pārśve vibaddhāyāṃ (so 1 ms., v.l. vivṛddhā- yāṃ, Senart em. vivṛtāyāṃ) vāhanāgāraśālāyāṃ gopāna- sīye antarāṇi vivaṭāni vītiloketsuḥ vītikāsetsuḥ, evam eva pāṃśulikāni (q.v.) pāṃśulikāntarāṇi vibaddhāni (kept [Page494-a+ 71] with mss. by Senart) vītiloketsuḥ vītikāsetsuḥ Mahāvastu ii.125.13— 15. If vibaddha is kept in the last part of the sentence, it should be kept in the first. It is true that in repetitions of the phrase (listed s.v. pāṃśulika) the mss. support vivaṭa, not vibaddha. Uncertain; but the next items give some support to vibaddha.
