Vicchedamātra (विच्छेदमात्र) refers to “(that which is) merely separated”, according to the Īśvarapratyabhijñāvivṛtivimarśinī 2.161.—Accordingly, “‘And this … is not enough’ [means the following]. [Something] that [only] consists of the manifestation in an external form, [i.e. in the form ‘this,’] of what remains [of the past experience in the shape of] an internal residual trace; [that is to say, something] that is merely separated (vicchedamātra) [from the subject expressed as ‘I,’ but] that, although manifested, [appears] without any specific place and time—[this is] not [enough] for inference to trigger any activity ending in a bodily action. [...]”.
