Source: Shodhganga: Edition translation and critical study of yogasarasamgraha1) Vilvādi refers to a medicinal recipe mentioned in the Kaṣāyakhaṇḍa (verse 1.75) of the 15th-century Yogasārasaṅgraha (Yogasara-saṅgraha) by Vāsudeva: an unpublished Keralite work representing an Ayurvedic compendium of medicinal recipes. The Kaṣāyakhaṇḍa [mentioning vilvādi] deals with decoctions (kaṣāya) and gruels (peyas) administered to patients suffering from a variety of conditions (viz., alcoholism, vomiting, syncope, burning sensations, etc.).
2) Vilvādi refers to a medicinal recipe mentioned in the Lehakhaṇḍa (verse 8.6) of the 15th-century Yogasārasaṅgraha (Yogasara-saṅgraha) by Vāsudeva: an unpublished Keralite work representing an Ayurvedic compendium of medicinal recipes. The Lehakhaṇḍa [mentioning vilvādi] contains preparations of leha (linctus, i.e. medicine in the form of a syrup), āsava and gula; such recipes treat patients suffering from conditions such as intermittent fever, cough, hiccough, fever, dyspnoea, haemorrhagic diseases, pulmonary cavitation, tuberculosis, etc.
