Vyāvṛta (व्यावृत) refers to “manifest”, according to the Tantric texts such as the Kubjikāmata-tantra, the earliest popular and most authoritative Tantra of the Kubjikā cult.—Accordingly, as the Goddess said to Bhairava:—“[...] Then I was overcome with wonder and (asked myself): ‘what is this voidness?’ And realizing that it was terrible and deep, I was frightened and (my) mind slumbered. Having entered into Bhairava’s sacrifice, I remained there in (my) supreme form and as an atom (of consciousness) the Lion (siṃhaka) (bore) a subtle form. O Lord, the Lion Fire (siṃhasaṃvartaka), full of darkness, became manifest (vyāvṛta)”.
